Hearing loss does not always occur in isolation:  in other words, other diagnoses may cause hearing loss, be affected by hearing loss, or occur as a result of the hearing loss.  For example, individuals with diabetes often experience a drop in hearing. 

People with certain vision, kidney, and circulation problems can develop a hearing loss.  Sometimes hearing loss symptoms can point to another disorder. 

Your audiologist at Appalachian Audiology is ready to work with you and your physician to accurately identify the type and extent of the hearing loss and to set a plan for a thorough diagnosis of the processes involved.
